It's a Boy!!!

We're having a baby boy! Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!! We're beyond excited over here! I'm trying to upload the ultrasound photos to the blog,

At 11 weeks..kinda looks like he's holding his hands up


At 19 weeks...definitely holding his hands up...he kept moving around and flipping. At one point he was pushing onto the placenta with his hands!


This one is of his spine! How cool is that...you can see every bone in his spine! Amazing what God has made and how intricate we are put together/knitted in the womb!

His name is going to be Roman James McDonald...named after two of our favorite books of the Bible. We particularly like Romans 5:3-5 ...we are to rejoice in our suffering, because we know that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces character, character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us because God poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit... In James 1:2-3 it says Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. This verse reminds us that suffering/trials makes us stronger and builds our faith and character. After the miscarriage back in 2006, this verse along with Philippians's 4:13. (I can do all things through Christ who give me strength) helped Chad and I through our trial and suffering.

It's funny cuz we've had our names (one girl name and one boy name) picked out since we started considering having kids, back in 2006. So, when this pregnancy became viable, we have been excitedly waiting to meet the one God wanted to give us first! And yes, I'm already thinking about the little Diamondback outfits I can dress him in and all the fun he's gonna have playing catch with daddy. He's my little man!
